I’m thrilled to announce our newest digital marketing intern at AdShark – Kseniia Gaidamukha! Her bright personality and marketing experience impressed all of us right away, so it was only right for us to bring her on the team as fast as possible!
She’s officially worked with us for a week, and we couldn’t wait any longer to introduce her to you! Read more about Kseniia below to learn about her and her many talents!
Welcome to the tank Kseniia! We’re so happy you’re here😊 What caught your eye about us and made you want to work at AdShark?
>> What really stands out to me at AdShark is the culture and the people. The community here makes the workplace feel welcoming and supportive. On top of that, the chance to work with clients and help them grow is something I’ve been passionate about since college. The Marketing Strategist Intern position at AdShark is the perfect way for me to try my analytical and creative skills, and I’m super excited about it!
You have one sentence to describe yourself… GO!
>> A girl from Russia who’s always looking for something new to try and somewhere new to go.
Whoohoo! Now let’s see what you can tell us with a few more sentences. Tell us a little bit more about you.
>>I was born and raised in Saint Petersburg, Russia. At 17, I moved across the world and landed in the Moorhead-Fargo area. You’re probably wondering: how did I end up here? Well, I got an offer to swim for MSUM and thought it was a great opportunity to try something new (spoiler: I quit swimming after 2 years). Now, with only 3 months left until “adult life” officially begins, I’m graduating from MSUM with three majors: International Business, Marketing, and Business Analytics. I’ve been interested in social media, advertising, and analytics since high school, but I didn’t know back then that it was all part of marketing.
No matter what mood I’m in or what the day looks like, I’m always up for travel. I’m pretty skilled at finding cheap tickets and convincing my friends & my boyfriend to come along. So far, my favorite place in the US has been Boston because it reminds me of my hometown in Russia. For me, traveling is a great way to reset, refresh my perspective, and return home ready for the routine.
In the past year and a half, I’ve fallen in love with photography, especially capturing weddings and couples. It’s a way for me to tell stories. Photography lets me tap into my creative side, and while I’d love to pursue it professionally one day, for now, it’s just a fun, pressure-free hobby.
Enough about me—let me introduce you to my sweet puppy Johnny The Bagel (he is a big beagle), who lives back home in Saint-P. He’s actually 6 years old but still acts like a kid (don’t we all?).
Tomorrow morning, you wake up with a new superpower —what is it, and what’s the first thing you do with it?
>> If I could have a superpower, I’d want to teleport. I could travel anywhere instantly, skipping long airport lines and layovers. And when it’s -20°F in Fargo, I’d teleport straight to work without freezing outside. I had been dreaming about this superpower since I was a little girl… Maybe somebody will invent teleport technology one day.
If you could photograph any place in the world, where would it be and why?
>>My answer might sound clichéd, but I’d love to photograph my hometown, Saint Petersburg. That way, no matter where I go, a piece of home will always be with me. Plus, it’s fun to share those images & videos with others and show different parts of Russia.
During your internship, you’ll learn more about digital marketing and how we manage our clients. What are you most excited to learn or work on during your internship?
>> I’m most excited about making an impact on clients. After five years in college, it’s great to finally put my skills to use on real projects at AdShark and help clients grow.
I’m also really curious about the “behind-the-scenes” work of the ads we see online. As a marketer, it’s interesting how your perspective changes, you start noticing things you never paid attention to before.
You’re originally from Russia, which is so cool! What has been the biggest surprise about living in the United States?
>> The biggest surprise for me in the U.S. was how nice people are. Maybe “Minnesota Nice” is an actual thing. I’ve had so much support from friends and even strangers. One time, my flight got canceled due to a winter storm, and I ended up driving from Fargo to Minneapolis with five strangers I met at the airport. At the time, it just made sense since we were all stuck, but later, I realized it could’ve been risky. My mindset was, “At least I’m going to Florida!” Fortunately, they were all genuinely kind people who just wanted to help.
If you had to be in a reality TV show, which one would you choose and why?
>> I’d choose Modern Family. There’s always something happening, which keeps life fun and eventful. Plus, I love how close the entire family lives, that’s something I hope for in my life one day. So, if you’re ever out of shows to watch or just need something on in the background, watch Modern Family!
What’s one bucket list item you’re hoping to cross off soon?
>> At the moment, I have 2 options. I’d love to skydive to celebrate graduating from college or visit my sister in the Czech Republic. Not sure which one to do first!

You have a solid marketing background from SEO to media strategy. What got you interested in marketing, and what has been your favorite marketing topic to learn about so far?
>> I think my favorite marketing topic changes every time I learn something new. Right now, I’m really interested in PPC advertising platforms. Overall, though, the analytical side of marketing is what I enjoy most.
Last but not least, what’s your favorite type of shark?
>> Not going to lie, I had to look up shark types… I went with the friendliest one according to Google — the Whale Shark! 🙂
