Welcome Micah Longthorne – AdShark’s Newest Digital Strategist Intern!

It’s time to welcome another new team member to the AdShark squad!!! Meet Micah Longthorne (does the name sound familiar👀), our newest Digital Strategist intern!! He’s currently a student at North Dakota State University, graduating with his Management Communications degree in the fall of 2026. He’s super excited to dive into the world of digital advertising and learn all he can from the team here at AdShark!

We’re super pumped to have him on with us and have learned a bunch of cool things about him in this first week. Learn more about Micah in the blog below!

Welcome to the AdShark team, Micah! We’re super pumped to have you intern with us 🙂 What caught your eye about AdShark and made you want to join the team?

I really appreciated AdShark’s mission/goal of providing genuine help and support to  people and their companies. It gave me something to look forward to and really build off of. I also had mutuals in Gavin and Micah G and I got to know Jack and Loock from our Sunday basketball league. They spoke very  highly of AdShark and are a blast to be around, so that definitely sparked my interest as well.

I love everything sports, especially basketball, and I alwaystry to be a friend and make people laugh.

Perfect! Now, let’s see what you can tell us with a few more sentences. Tell us a little bit more about you.

I’m a Management Communications major at NDSU  with 1 semester left!🙏  I currently live with 5 of my best friends in a big, old house right off campus, and we love to have a good time! I can’t wait for summer days at the lake with my family. For fun, I play basketball, some video games and watch lots of movies/tv shows (favorite being The Office) and sports. Did I mention I have a brother who works at AdShark?!

Super cool to hear! What would you say is your #1 goal for yourself during your internship here?

My #1 goal as an intern here is to make a real impact on all my client’s businesses and land a full-time position. But beyond that, I want to seamlessly become an integral part of this team – someone people trust and want on their side!

What got you first  interested in marketing? What are you looking forward to learning about the most while you’re here at AdShark?

My brother Gavin definitely got me interested in marketing. I switched my major from Finance, partly because of hearing how much he loved working in marketing/advertising. I also found advertising really interesting because of how dynamic it is and how many different industries you get to work with.  I’m excited to learn all about how to help people make as much money as possible. 

If you could choose to play for any sports team – what team would you play for and why?

I would be the point guard for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Anthony Edwards and I would be best friends, bring a championship to Minnesota and become Hall of Famers together…

What national brand do you think KILLS it with their marketing or advertising?

I really like Adidas ads. I think they definitely have the best video ads in the shoe game. I might be a little biased because Anthony Edwards is an Adidas athlete, but they really know how to capture their audience’s attention while staying relatable yet different from most other brands.

We heard you’re a country music connoisseur, what are your top 5 favorite country music songs?

(This changes every week and is the hardest question)

If you could start your own podcast tomorrow, what would you call it, and what would the overall focus be?

My podcast would be called Everything but Basketball, and the overall focus would be basketball but it would get very sidetracked every episode and end up ending on a completely different topic every day.

And last but not least, what’s your favorite type of shark?

My favorite shark is the Nurse Shark because I’ve swam with them before and they are very chill and friendly.
